Targeting Transdiagnostic Oscillatory Signatures of Mood Symptoms With Transcranial Alternating Current Stimulation

Targeting the functional networks of mood symptoms with non-invasive brain stimulation represents a promising therapeutic strategy. Previously, we have shown that transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) targeting alpha oscillations (alpha-tACS) alters frontal alpha oscillations and is associated with a decrease in depression symptoms severity. It remains unclear if this approach translates to mood symptoms beyond major depression disorder.
