摘要
The optical simulation of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) is to obtain the device performance from the delicate optical models with accurate input information, such as material property and device structure. From the well-developed optical simulation tools, we can: (i) clarify the mechanisms of photo-energy transport, conversion, and loss processes in OLEDs; (ii) optimize the OLED performance, such as efficiency, brightness, gamut, and color quality by material selection, layer thickness adjustment, and light extraction structures; (iii) predict key OLED characteristics, such as emission spectrum, efficiency, and power consumption; (iv) assess the effects of fabrication procedure on the optical properties of OLEDs; (v) explore new optical phenomena of OLEDs, such as transit dipole distribution and transit dipole moment orientation. Nowadays, OLED simulation plays a powerful and imperative role in both academia and OLEDs industry, which helps to accelerate the R&D process, reveal details of optical processes, explore new phenomena, and reduce the time and costs in OLED development.
