Palladium/Norbornene‐Catalyzed Ortho‐Alkenylation of Aryl Iodides

Palladium/norbornene‐catalyzed ortho ‐alkenylation of aryl iodides to construct tetrasubstituted alkenes, which are of great significance in many fields of chemistry, has remained notoriously challenging. Herein, ester‐tethered alkenyl bromides can serve as suitable electrophiles is demonstrated in the Catellani reaction for facile access to diverse tetrasubstituted alkenes and indenones. This procedure shows good functional group tolerance and easy scalability.
