摘要
Zinc‐based flow batteries (ZFBs) are emerging as promising candidates for large‐scale, long‐duration energy storage owing to their high theoretical energy density, environmental benignity, and cost‐effectiveness. However, uncontrolled zinc dendrite growth severely undermines their cycling stability, safety, and rate capability, particularly under high‐capacity and long‐term operation. Here, we review recent advances in multidimensional dendrite‐suppression strategies, encompassing electrolyte engineering, electrode architecture optimization, functional membrane development, and operational parameter tuning. These approaches regulate dendrite formation at different growth stages while leveraging synergistic effects across materials and system design. This integrated, multiscale perspective provides a roadmap toward high‐energy‐density, dendrite‐free ZFB systems with the durability and safety required for large‐scale deployment.
