Abstract A wavelength-tunable random laser is fabricated by a spincoating method, and the film is constructed by Polyvinyl Alcohol, Rhodamine 6G and Au NRs, using a silicon rubber slab as the substrate. The Au NRs provide a plasmonic feedback mechanism, enhancing the photoluminescence of the gain material. The wavelength of the random lasing emission is tuned by a mechanical stretch method, and the rearrangement of Au NRs has a great effect on the wavelength and polarization of the output spectra. This simple approach provides a wavelength-tuneable random laser for applications.
