The effect of Angelica on the content of liver collagen protein of hepatic fibrosis rats induced by CCl_4

Objectives: The purpose of the study was to observe the effect of Angelica on the content of liver collagen protein of hepatic fibrosis rats induced by CCl 4. Methods:The hepatic fibrosis rat model induced by CCl 4,was given by ig Angelica equal to crude drug 6g/kg, 4g/kg and 2g/kg.The effect of Angelica on the content of liver collagen protein and histopathology was observed.Results: The level of liver collagen protein in Angelica group was than that of the model group and histopathology also show that Angelica reduced hepatic fibrosis. Conclusion: Angelica may resist hepatic fibrosis.The mechanism is possibly that Angtlica may inhibit reproduction of fibroblast and reduce the synthesis of collagen fiber.
