Active response to ageing of population is an integrated part of the road,theory and system of China's socialism characteristics and is also a strategic ideology and comprehensive policies to cope with population ageing.Article highly appraises Active Ageing proposed by WHO and adopted in The 2nd Assembly of World Ageing in 2002 at Madrid for its farreaching significance in changing the passive and pessimistic thinking concerning Ageing,and recommending policies to tackle Ageing.Article illustrates in details three pillars(i.e.Health,Security and Participation) and three prerequisites(i.e.life-long perspectives,basing on lawful rights of elderly and cooperation and mutual supports among departments and generations) ofActive Ageing.Active response to population ageing evolving from active ageing signifies that active ageing is escalating to an innovative and improved Chinese version on the grounds that implementing policy of reform and opening,stressing huge population and dealing with population ageing instead of dealing with individual ageing.Article concludes that active response to population ageing should add three more cornerstones underlying to Active Ageing i.e.development,harmony and for all ages.
