The supercritical CO2 extraction of b-carotene has been simulated by inspecting the effects of operating conditions such as pressure (10~32MPa),temperature (0~60C),gas velocity of empty towers (0.25-1.00m/s)and particle size (0.0005 ~0.01m)on extraction yield and process economy. The optimum operation conditions of extraction has been obtained, and a new method that could reducing the load of exploring work, that is,optimizing the operating conditions of extraction with computer to study the supercritical fluid extraction technology has been suggested.
