Developing Trends of Technologies for Nitrogen and Phosphorus Removal by Biological Processes

This paper reviews the advances in the biological nitrogen and phosphorus removal technologies for municipal wastewater. The mechanism and characteristics of nitrogen and phosphorus removal processes are analyzed, and directions of studying the biological nitrogen and phosphorus removal technologies are also discussed.
