The Study and Application of Shape Memory Alloy in Civil Engineering

In this paper, the mechanical properties of shape memory alloy (SMA) are briefly summarized. And then the progress of SMA research in civil engineering is reviewed from the following four aspects: SMA damper, SMA isolator, SMA actuator and SMA composite material. The existing problems in application and research are presented and the research level is analyzed at home and abroad. Finally, some proposals of its future development are put forward.
