Video documental sobre los pescadores artesanales en la parroquia de Tonchigüe.

This research was conducted in the parish Tonchigue Esmeraldas´ province, Atacames Canton. Artisanal fisheries analyzed, with information collected later a documentary video which addresses various situations of everyday life of fishermen, ranging from the simple to the complex, considering various factors that may be described in the following points were made: Customs and beliefs: through an interview could prove the existence of some fishermen own habits before and after facing the sea, as well as beliefs about the sea as a living being, linked to the female figure. Knowledge and fishing techniques: how to be exposed preparing fishermen before going out to sea, as well as their knowledge of the tide and time to go fishing. Their way of life: the artisanal fishermen living off fishing, must fish daily. Humility and family unity also shown as when setting out to fish, the whole family helps. Thinking about the ecosystem: artisanal fishing is selective fishing, because when picking their networks they choose what they want. If the network catches a small fish, they give back to the sea, and who see it as a seed, he would become a future fisherman. Their daily struggle to survive in an increasingly limited by pollution of the seas.
