The late peripapillary halo of fundus fluorescein angiography

Objective To study the relationship between the late peripapillary halo(LPH)and the choroid of optic papilla' s circumference with fundus fluoreseein angiography(FFA).Methods 30 eyes with central serous chorioretiopa- thy(CSC),which had the integrity discus opticus in the clear fudus fluorescein angiogram,were draw out with random.We analyzed the figure of LPH,the pigmentation of the parapapillary choroid,the sclem annulus or ace.Results There were 29 eyes with LPH,including leye with ace on nose side,14 eyes with annular shape,and 14 eyes with unclear fluores- cence on upper side or/and lower side.25 eyes with the sclera annulus or ace were found among those 29 eyes.And a- mong those 25 eyes,there were 4 eyes with the sclera annulus,7 eyes with the temporal side ace,14 eyes with unclear up- per side or/and lower side.On the other hand,20 eyes had pigmentation on the temporal side choroids,including 11 eyes amalgamation with LPH and 9 eyes without.In these 11 eyes,7 eyes had higher fluorescence intensity,and the other eyes had the same intensity.Conclusion The theory that LPH came from the leakage of the parapapillary choroid lacked the evidences.
