Treatment of unstable angina pectoris with normal phosphorycholine-coated stent and dexamethasone-releasable phosphorycholine-coated stent

Objective To compare the long-term clinical effects of normal phosphorycholine-coated stent (PC stent) and dexamethasone-releasable phosphorrycholine-coated stent (DXM-PC stent) on single coronary lesion in patients with unstable angina pectoris.MethodsAll 120 cases of unstable angina pectoris were randomly divided into the PC stent group (n=60) and the DXM-PC stent group (n=60).The incidence rates of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) were observed in two groups 36 months after the coronary stent implantation. ResultsThe coronary stent implantations were successful in all patients. After 36 months, the DXM-PC stent group had a much lower rate of MACE than the PC stent group (7% vs 25%, P0.01).ConclusionDXM-PC stent is more safe and effective than PC stent for preventing MACE in the patients with single coronary lesion of unstable angina pectoris with a better long-term clinical effect.
