On Modality in Business English and Its Interpersonal Functions

Modality is a very important concept of functional grammar.It is one of the motivation modes of interpersonal meanings.It expresses the speaker's conviction and attitude towards a proposition.Modality plays a vital role in business English.This paper,based on the concept of modality,presents an effort to analyze the expressions of modality and metaphor of modality in business English.Finally it concludes the corresponding interpersonal functions of modality in business English.
