The determination of flavonoids content in Chrysanthemum indicum L.by colorimetry

Objective To establish the way of determining flavonoids content in Chrysanthemum indicum L.by colorimetry.Methods Compared with rutin,content of total flavonoids was determined in the 508 nm wavelength by colorimetry and NaNO2-Al(NO3)3-NaOH was adopted to develope color.Results The optimal condition for determining by colorimetry was as follows:5% NaNO2-5% Al(NO3)3-4% NaOH;content of total flavonoids was 2.29%,the average recovery was 102.8%,RSD was 2.60%.Conclusion The method was stable,accurate,reproducible,highly sensitive and thus was a realistic and practical approach for determining flavonoids content in chrysanthemum by colorimetry.
