This paper describes microstructure investigations by small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) and interfacial tension measurements on 19 water-n-alkane-alkylpolyglykolether(C i E j )-systems. A quantitative analysis of the results is given. The knowledge of the forms and sizes of the microstructures enables one to determine the state of the curvature of the amphiphilic film and, thus, to analyse the interfacial tension measurement as experiment on the bending energy of the amphiphilic film. By this kind of analysis all interfacial tension curves can be scaled on a master curve. The few critical parameters needed are the maximal domain size, the temperature sensitivity (T u -T l ) and the mean temperature (T u + T l )/2, corresponding to the phase inversion temperature, PIT. Accordingly, we are hopeful to achieve a corresponding states description in the near future.
