Study on catalytic conversion of biomass-derivative ethyl lactate to ethyl acrylate

The conversion of ethyl lactate to ethyl acrylate with ZSM-5 or mordenite as the catalysts is investigated.Results show that the following reaction conditions is optimal:180℃,3 hours of reaction time and 10%(w/w) of catalyst amount.Under the optimal reaction conditions the conversion rate of ethyl lactate can be 82.58%,and the selectivity of ethyl acrylate,37.38%.
