Effect of water temperature on the instantaneous rate of oxygen consumption of Litnpenaeus vannamei and the dissolved oxygen level was studied in this experiment. Different temperatures affect the oxygen consumption and dissolved oxygen of juveniles of Litnpenaeus vannamei. There is good correlation between the oxygen consumption rate(Vt,mg/g·h) of the juveniles and dissolved oxygen(DO,mg/L).At contrastive temperature test group(25.5±0.3℃),the oxygen consumption rate increased when time lasted and dissolved oxygen content decreased. While in another two higher temperature test groups (30.5±0.3℃,35.5±0.3℃), it has an opposite result. The authors consider that in the indoor culture of Litnpenaeus vannamei, the lower limit of DO is 3 mg/L.
