Capacitive Sensing

In this chapter we discuss capacitive sensing. We begin with a section on capacitive position transducers and then discuss capacitance and the dielectric constant. Next, we present a brief discussion of the history of capacitance sensors followed by a section on the electronic circuits for capacitive transducers. The chapter concludes with the typical performance specifications and applications.
