CT findings of early avascular necrosis of the femoral head and its clinical values

Objective To investigate the CT findings of early avascular necrosis of the femoral head(ANFH) and the value in diagnosis and treatment.Methods 126 patients(198 femoral heads) were examined with CT.Results 81 femoral head necrosis belonged to stageⅠand CT showed stelliform structural changes,osteoporosis and osteosclerosis.65 femoral head necrosis were defined as stageⅡand CT showed osteosclerosis and cystic hyalomere.Stage Ⅲ was classified in 52 femoral heads and CT showed crescent signs.Conclusion CT can definitely display the range and stage of early ANFE,It will provide reliable information for clinical doctors to formulate therapeutic regimens.
