Study on the Thickness Effect of Ceramic Composite Armor

With the 105mm simulated armor piercing(AP) ammunition,this paper focused on investigating the influence of effects of thickness on the ballistic properties of such armors.DOP method was used to evaluate the ballistic properties of composite armors.It was found that properties decreased with thickness however at vertical or large obliquity.Multi-layer ceramic composite armor has more excellent ballistic properties than single-layer armors at same thickness of ceramic composite armor.
