Study on endothelial protein C receptor and sepsis

Endothelial protein C receptor(EPCR)is a main component of protein C anticoagulant system.As receptor of protein C and activated protein C,EPCR is essential in activating the protein C,and it has anti-inflammatory and cytoprotection effect in sepsis through activated protein C.In this review,we summarize its structure and regulation of expression,also describe the effects of EPCR in sepsis.
