Analysis of clinical complications of high-intensity focused ultrasound in treatment of uterine fibroids

Objective To analyze the adverse effect and complications of high intensity focused ultrasound(HIFU)in treatment of patients with uterine fibroids,and to provide the information for their prognosis and prevention.Methods Sixty patients with uterine fibroids were treated by HIFU,then partial complications and systematic reaction were observed during and after HIFU treatment.Results The main adverse reactions were abdominal pain(31/60 cases),skin lesions(15/60 cases),vaginal bleeding(4/60 cases),coccydynia and discomfort(9/60 cases),its extent was not serious,and had minor effect on body.Conclusion HIFU treatment of uterine fibroids has a certain amount of local complications.Analysis of the causes of complications has important value for HIFU treatment options and complications prevention.
