Metabolism of Sophoricoside in Homogenized Liver of Rats

Objective To elucidate the metabolism of sophoricoside in homogenized liver of rats. Methods We studied the main metabolite of sophoricoside and quantified it in homogenized liver of rats by HPLC. Furthermore, we determined the enzymatic parameters of sophoricoside metabolism in vitro. Results After incubated 4 h, the total recovery of sophoricoside is more than 78% , and the main metabolite of sophoricoside was genistein. The Km for hydrolysis of sophoricoside was (334. 27 ± 15. 28) μmol/L. Conclusion In homogenized liver, the active metabolite of sophoricoside is obtained by hydrolysis. It is of current significance to give full play to its activity.
