Research of dyeing properties of natural gardenia blue on wool fabric

Natural dyes are environmental friendly,biodegradable and non-toxic dyes,they have broad prospects for development in textile dyeing and finishing process fields.This paper applies mordant dyeing method,determined optimal dyeing method by comparing pre-mordant dyeing process,one bath dyeing process with post-mordant dyeing process.Meanwhile,crocking and soaping fastness of wool fabric dyed with gardenia blue are measured and evaluated.Finally,dyeing thermodynamics and dyeing kinetics of gardenia blue dye are measured,calculated and analyzed.Research provided theory basis for natural dyes' application in dyeing process of wool.
