Regulating self-assembly of concomitant isotropic Ag78 and anisotropic Ag110 nanoclusters

Two similar-sized Ag nanoclusters (NCs) with the same multiple-shell structure but different assembly trends (isotropic Ag 78 and anisotropic Ag 110 ) were prepared via a one-pot method. CF 3 COOAg-mediated directional intracluster self-assembly was employed to achieve NC separation, whereas acid-ligand exchange triggered the chiroptical response of Ag 110 , underscoring the pivotal role of small acids in the synthesis of Ag NCs.
