Aspersorbiciols A and B, two hybrid sorbicillinoids, were obtained from marine fungus Aspergillus sp. GXIMD02072. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analyses, quantum chemical calculations, and X-ray diffraction. Structurally, aspersorbiciols A and B represented the first reported instances of sorbicillinoids incorporating a 2,6-dioxa-pentacyclo-[10.4.0.04,8.04,16.08,13]-hexadecane cage-like skeleton. Aspersorbiciols A and B suppressed lipopolysaccharide-induced NF-κB luciferase activities and the receptor activator of NF-κB ligand-induced osteoclastogenesis.
