摘要
A wide dual-band dual-circularly polarized (CP) holographic metasurface (HM) is proposed and demonstrated in this article. The dual-band dual-CP operation is implemented by using a tensor metasurface incorporated with holographic technology to constitute a full-tensor HM. As compared to the scalar metasurface, tensor metasurfaces can effectively control electromagnetic (EM) waves under arbitrary polarizations. The proposed HM characterizes high gain, low profile, dual-CP with boresight radiations and wide dual-band as well as a simple feeding. The presented method and developed demonstrator effectively release the problem that the beam will steer or split as the operation frequency changes existing in conventional HMs. A prototype HM is designed, fabricated and measured; and good performance is observed, both from measurements and from simulations. The measured results show that the developed HM can generate left-handed circularly polarized) EM waves from 11 GHz to 14.25 GHz (i.e. a relative bandwidth of 25.7%), and right-handed circularly polarized EM waves from 15.08 GHz to 18.85 GHz (namely a relative bandwidth of 22.2%) under an impedance bandwidth from 10 GHz to 19 GHz for |S11| < −10 dB. This work, for the first time, exploits HM to yield stable dual-CP radiation beams within a wide dual-band. It could be potentially applicable to uses such as detection, imaging, wireless communications and so on.
