Molecular imprinting technique(MIT) is the process of preparing polymers which are capable of specifically recognizing target molecules, and the prepared polymer is called molecularly imprinted polymer(MIP).Due to the advantages such as predetermination, specific recognition and wide practicability,MIPs have been widely used in numbers of applications including separation, antibody and receptor mimics, catalysts, biomimetic sensor and so on.In this critical review,we briefly review the history, principle, classification, applications and some new hot topics of MIT.
