Coordination of the New Schiff Base with Copper(II) or Iron(III) in Solution

A new Schiff base C 33 H 31 N 4 O 5(L) was synthesized from 1-(3-pyridyl)-1,3-butanedione and 1,3-bis(2-aminophenoxyl)-2-propanol.The structure of the Schiff base was determined by X-ray diffraction analysis.Furthermore,the coordination reaction of the Schiff base with Cu(Ⅱ) or Fe(Ⅲ) was investigated via UV-Vis spectroscopy,the stability constants of the two complexes were determined respectively.
