Current Research and Development in the Field of Porous Media Fluid Mechanics

Porous media are widely distributed in nature,and include underground rock,soil,engineering materials,and organisms.The seepage problems of porous media are of concern because of their microstructural complexity.This paper summarizes the status of research into porous media seepage theory,and discusses the descriptions of porous media,the research methods used to investigate seepage problems,the transportation of solutes in porous media,heat migration in porous media,and research approaches such as numerical modeling.Finally,the paper offers thoughts about the application of porous media seepage theory to developments in various fields,including those of the environment,agriculture,and ecology.
