Nitration of β,β,β- and γ,γ,γ-trinitro, as well as γ,γ-dinitro carbonyl compds. is considered to be a rather general method for obtaining hexanitroethane, 1,1,1,2,2-pentanitroethyl and 2,2,3,3-tetranitropropyl compds., containing alkyl or functional groups. A scheme for chem. pathways of the reaction is suggested. |
