Hu H, Shi D, Yang Z. Projection evolutionary topology optimization method based on dynamic discretization and boundary smoothing[J]. Engineering Optimization, 2025: 1-27. Abstract Traditional element-based methods often use penalty factors or gradual element deletion strategies to achieve 0/1 designs, potentially leading to suboptimal topologies. This article proposes a projection evolutionary topology optimization (PETO) method within the framework of the variable-density method to effectively address this issue. This method uses a linear interpolation model to compute element material properties, employing discreteness as an evolutionary criterion to dynamically remove low-density elements within the design domain, facilitating structural evolution. To mitigate void structures in the design results, density projection techniques are applied to eliminate unnecessary details in the topological configuration. A level-set function based on nodal strain energy is then used to |
