The marginal mean PEEP was estimated at 9.4 cmH2O (SE 0.2) in the EIT-guided PEEP group and 8.7 cmH2O (SE 0.2) in the lower PEEP/FiO2 table group (Table S1). Respiratory mechanics during the first 7 days and the differences between enrollment and day 1 based on lung recruitability are presented in Figure 4 and Figure S5. In EIT-guided PEEP group, the difference in PEEP levels between lung recruitability, as assessed by R/I ratio or ΔCollapse20-4, is shown in the online data supplement (Table S7). Baseline characteristics of patients based on lung recruitability are presented in Table S8.
