The first commercial trial of selective hydrodesulfurization technology for FCC naphtha (named as RSDS) was carried out in a 470kt/a hydrotreating unit at Shanghai Petrochemical Company. The test results showed that at hydrodesulfurization (HDS) rates of 79.7% and 91.8%, the RON losses of the treated naphtha were 0.9 and 1.9, respectively. RSDS technology was suitable to be used for producing clean gasoline components with low sulfur content due to its good HDS performance and high olefin selectivity.
