Macrophage is the main host cell of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in the body. Cellmediated immune response is the main immune protection mechanism in the anti-Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Macrophage kills Mycobacterium tuberculosis through phagocytosis, lysosome fusion, presenting antigens of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, producing a variety of cytokines, reactive oxygen intermediates and reactive nitrogen intermediates, apoptosis and many other ways. Meanwhile,Mycobacterium tuberculosis can take a variety of ways to escape the immune function of macrophages. This article reviews the research progress on immune response of macrophage and Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
