Study on solution grafting of maleic anhydride onto PP

Maleic anhydride(MAH) grafted polypropylene(PP) was prepared by solution method.The effects of factors,such as the concentration of monomer,initiator and xylene;the reaction temperature and time;the means of initiator into the system had been examined with orthogonal experiment and single element experiment method.The experiment results showed that all factors had influenced on the grafting ratio.The concentration of MAH and xylene were important factors on the grafting ratio.The grafting ratio was 4.36% when the ratio of MAH/xylene/PP was 0.1/2/1.
