Objective To explore the strategies and methods of foam sclerotherapy for varicose veins of lower extremity. Methods Foam sclerotherapy was performed on 45 patients (48 limbs) with varicose veins (CEAP classification, 2) under direct vision. Results All patients were treated by direct foam sclerotherapy successfully. The average volume of foam sclerosing agent in each case was 14 ml. The second foam sclerotherapy was performed on 4 lower extremities at 1 month after first treatment. Obvious varicose veins disappeared without severe complications in all patients after the follow-up time of 3 months. Conclusion Foam sclerotherapy is simple and effective in the treatment of varicose vein of lower extremities. [
