The photoelectrochemical behaviors of nanocrystalline ZnO electrodes co sensiti zed by CdS and Ru(Ⅱ) complex were investigated by the photocurrent action spect ra,the pattern of photocurrent electrode potential and UV Vis absorption spect ra.It was verified that the photocurrents of ZnO electrodes sensitized by CdS an d Ru(Ⅱ) complex was larger than that of ZnO electrodes sensitized by CdS or Ru( Ⅱ) complex.The back electron transfer was inhibited through co sensitizing of electrode and the loss of electron was decreased.Co sensitizing of the electrod e enlarged the visible absorption,the generation of photocurrent extended into th e region of the wavelength longer than 600?nm and the efficiency of light to el ectricity increased obviously.
