The Mental Hygiene of The 252 Patients with Blood Stasis Syndromes

Objective To study the psychologically healthy states of the patients with Blood Stasis(BS)syndromes in different types in order to provide data for the future prevention work of mental hygiene.Methods 252 BS patients were investigated by Chinese version of SCL-90 in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.All indexes were compared with the Chinese national norms and between different sexuality.The final data is thus analyzed and reported.Results As in the SCL-90 results,57.94% and 46.03% of the study group reached the significant levels of Global Total(GT) and Positive Symptoms Total(PST) respectively(P0.001).Except Phobic Anxiety for both sex and psychoticism for male group,the scores in all scales of the SCL-90 were higher than those of Chinese norm significantly(P0.05 or P0.001),which best indicated that the study group was experiencing severe mental hygiene problems.Of the SCL-90 symptom scales,the scores of the study group(n=252) were significantly higher than that of the control group(n=198)(P0.05 or P0.01),showing that the study group was experiencing severe diet-sleep disorder,somatization,anxiety,obsessive-compulsive and interpersonal sensitivity as well.In addition,more than 75%,74% and 73% of the study group reached the significant levels of the SCL-90's somatization,diet-sleep disorder and obsessive-compulsive respectively.Many BS patients paid their great attention to the somzatization symptoms and despised their own psychological problems.Finally,sex analysis of the study group indicated that the female group had higher scores in all scales of the SCL90 than the male including severe diet-sleep disorder,somatization,anxiety and psychoticism as well,the difference is remarkable(P0.01).Conclusion Different mental hygiene had different impact on BS patients,by taking the basic behavior,emotions,the feelings,the personality and the ability to adapt to external environment as the main clinical characteristics.The psychological problems among the female BS patients were obviously higher than that of the male,which reflected that the pressure to female group is not lower than the male.When treating the BS patients,medical workers not only to cure the symptoms found on the body,but also to uncover the potential problems in terms of mental hygiene as possible.Treatment of psychological and mentality symptoms at the primary care level is possible,and is often very rewarding.
