摘要
Most of the present codes and standards concerning fire design of reinforced concrete columns are based on the outcomes of research on isolated members, which neglects the restraint and interaction imposed by the surrounding structure. In reality, structural elements acting as part of a frame exhibit different behavior from that of single structural members in fire.By using the finite element software SAFIR,the paper first presents the analysis of an unrestrained reinforced concrete column subjected to ASTM E119 standard fire and compares it with the test results. The paper continues to analyze the axially and rotationally restraining effects on the fire resistance of the reinforced concrete columns.
