High Resolution Image Download MS PowerPoint Slide We have previously clearly identified atmospheric nitrogen oxides (NOx) as a key factor in nitrosamine contamination in pharmaceuticals. To implement more appropriate countermeasures, the nitrosation potential of nitrogen monoxide (NO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO 2 )─the primary components of NOx─was evaluated using short-term and long-term gas flow model experiments. The results revealed that NO 2 is required for the nitrosation reaction to occur.
