摘要
The output current of inverter should contain lower harmonic component. In order to reduce the harmonic component or total harmonic distortion (THD) different types of pulse width modulation (PWM) techniques are used. Among these techniques third harmonic injected PWM (THPWM) is widely used for lower THD. This paper studies THD variation for THPWM technique by varying the modulation index and frequency of the carrier signal. From the analysis, an optimum condition is suggested which offers lowest THD for that optimum condition. In this paper, a modified THPWM technique is proposed. This proposed modulation technique helps to reduce the THD to the lowest value than the THPWM technique. All the simulation work is done by MATLAB/Simulink software. Here the THPWM technique is compared with the modified THPWM and justifies that the modified THPWM is better than the THPWM technique.
