34.4.2 Fluorocyclobutanes (Update 2017)

Abstract This chapter is an update to the earlier Science of Synthesis contribution (Section 34.4) describing methods for the synthesis of fluorocyclobutanes. In this review, progress made in the field since 2006 is reported. The use of cycloaddition reactions as well as rearrangement reactions to access the fluorocyclobutane motif are significant advances in this area.
