The Effect of Combined Intervention of Child-Parent Relationship Therapy and Brain Gym on Children’s Behavioral Problems with Autism Spectrum Disorder: A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial

This study investigated the effectiveness of Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT), a behavioral intervention, combined with Brain Gym (BG) on behavioral problems in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). In a clinical trial with 36 children in Kashan and Arak during 2020-2021, the intervention group received Dennison and Landreth-Bratton protocols. Data were collected using Rutter, GARS-2, and RCPM at baseline (T1), post-intervention (T2), and two-month follow-up (T3). Results showed a significant interaction between time-intervention on behavioral severity, p < 0.0001, with the intervention group showing improvement at T2 and T3. The results suggest a combination of CPRT and BG can reduce ASD’s behavior problems.
