The BaZrO3/CaO2-B2O3-SiO2 of low temperature cofired composite material was prepared by two-step sintering method, using low softening point of CaO-B2O3-SiO2 glass and BaZrO3 as raw materials. The difference of two-step sintering method from traditional sintering method, as well as the influence of various process stages in two-step sintering on the microstructure and dielectric properties of composite material were studied. The results show that two-step sintering method can significantly optimize the microstructure of composite material and improve its dielectric properties; when the composite material is fast heated to θ1 of 960 ℃ and hold for 5 min then decreases down to θ2 of 920 ℃ and hold for 5 h, the er reaches about 15 and tanδ reaches about 1.5×10–4. This composite material is hopeful to be applied in low temperature cofired multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCC).
