To study characteristics and influencing factors of the dynamic shear modulus and damping ratio subjected to the one-way cycle loading,a series of laboratory tests by GDS are conducted on saturated sandy soil in phase Ⅱ project of Wuhan metro line 4.The results show that the relationship between dynamic shear modulus as well as damping ratio and dynamic shear strain can be described by the Hardin-Drnevich hyperbolic model;the dynamic shear modulus, contrary to damping ratio, decreases with increase of the dynamic strain, but increases as the accretion of confining pressure and consolidation ratio increases. The fact provides an important basis for aseismic design of engineering structure.
