AIE-active cyclometalated iridium(iii) complexes for highly efficient picric acid detection in aqueous media

Three Ir( iii ) complex-based AIEgens have been developed to detect picric acid efficiently in aqueous solution. The bright emission of these complexes in the aggregated and crystalline states is supported by crystal structure and triplet state TDDFT study.
