Prediction of Radiated ESD fields in a typical Navigation Spacecraft

In space, Spacecraft surfaces are charged to several volts due to interaction with space plasma. The potential difference in spacecraft surfaces can cause electrostatic discharges and can radiate electromagnetic field. The fields expected on the subsystems are estimated and assessed the subsystems performance based on radiate susceptibility test results. The amount of radiated field estimated in a particular navigation spacecraft and its effect on spacecraft subsystems are discussed in this paper
