ACAMIA is a free, open-code, R-based tool that automates multigroup confirmatory factor analysis and measurement invariance assessment, which are crucial for social cognition research and beyond. ACAMIA is designed to alleviate the workload associated with multigroup confirmatory factor analysis and measurement invariance processes, which are vital for ensuring the reliability and comparability of questionnaire-based scales across multiple stimuli or contexts. It provides a user-friendly Shiny app that can specify measurement models, evaluate model fit, and adapt models as needed. Through an automatic iterative algorithm, ACAMIA ensures efficient, transparent, and reproducible data analysis. In previous applications, ACAMIA successfully processed large data sets, drastically reducing the time required for analysis while achieving comparable or superior solutions. This tutorial offers step-by-step guidance on using ACAMIA, emphasizing its benefits, limitations, and the necessary analytic decisions researchers must make. By enhancing research efficiency, ACAMIA enables a deeper focus on substantive—and perhaps more enjoyable—parts of research.
